2020 BUSINESS PARTICIPATION

Updated July 2020-Historically, the Taste of Maplewood operates as a one-day street festival that brings together everyone’s favorite Maplewood and Richmond Heights businesses in a few short blocks on Sutton! However, given the restrictions on crowd sizes and gathering in 2020, we’re switching up the format and stretching the celebration out over a week. This will allow visitors to shop locally while distancing socially!

Among the features of the week is a program to reward customers who do business locally via a punch card, sidewalk sales, pop-up shops, a “Show your Local Love” design contest, Wandering Wednesdays, Taste MiniFest, and other features that spotlight our business community!

 

BUSINESS PARTICIPATION INCLUSION

Listed on Punch Card for shoppers to receive rewards each time they shop or dine locally from August 19-26th

Permission to set up a table outside during the premier shopping/dining times – August 19 and 26th for Wandering Wednesdays and on Saturday, August 22 for our Taste MiniFest

Listed on event website, on social media, and in all other materials

Opportunity to have a “pop-up shop” in downtown Maplewood. This is limited to businesses who are members of the Chamber and not located in the downtown shopping district. Vendors provide tent, table, etc

PARTICIPATION CRITERIA


Participation is limited. One or both of the first two bullet points must apply for businesses to be eligible to register:

  • Member of the Mid County Chamber of Commerce OR
  • Hold a business license in the City of Maplewood or City of Richmond Heights 
  • Pop up shop opportunity is limited to Chamber Members not located in the Maplewood Downtown area (business provides their own tent/table)

PARTICIPATION, DISCOUNTS, and REGISTRATION FEE

PARTICIPATION INFORMATION
Participation requires businesses to pay the registration fee AND help contribute to the pool of prizes to reward punch card winners. Suggested total contribution per business in prizes is $30-$50 ($10 min. value per prize.) Examples for a business: $4 bottles of $12 wine, or five $10 gift cards, or three $15 gift cards, etc.

EARLY REGISTRATION DISCOUNT
A discount is offered to all businesses who register AND pay their fees by July 31. If a business registers but does not pay their registration fee until after July 31, the early registration discount will NOT be honored.

CHAMBER MEMBER DISCOUNT
Without businesses who invest in the Chamber and community throughout the year, events like the Taste of Maplewood wouldn’t be possible! For this reason, members of the Chamber receive an additional discount on registration fees.

REGISTRATION FEE
In addition to the punch card prizes- each business will pay a registration fee. The fees below with an * indicate the discounted fee for early registration by July 31st.
