CHAMBER LEADERSHIP AWARDS
BUSINESS PERSON OF THE YEAR AWARD
Annual
This award honors a business person who is committed to local economic development and community leadership/service by contributing time, expertise and/or resources for the betterment of Maplewood and/or Richmond Heights. Nominees will have demonstrated success in civic and professional areas, specifically in the areas of growth, leadership, achievement, and community service.
Criteria: Nominees must be employed by a registered member of the Mid County Chamber of Commerce.
CITIZEN OF THE YEAR AWARD
Annual
This award honors a citizen who has worked passionately and tirelessly to promote Maplewood and/or Richmond Heights as a great place to live, work and visit. He/She consistently performs extraordinary acts on behalf of others and efforts have enhanced the quality of life for members of the community.
Criteria: Nominee must be a resident of the City of Maplewood or City of Richmond Heights
CHAMBER BUSINESS OF THE YEAR AWARD
Annual
Established in 2011, the Chamber Business of the Year Award is an award that recognizes a Chamber business who demonstrated an exceptional contribution to their industry or community within the past year. Nominated businesses should be a model business, with a reputation of excellence in one or more of the following areas: Industry Achievement, Revenue Growth, Outstanding Customer Service, Innovative products and services, creative marketing endeavors, and community involvement.
Criteria: Nominees must be a registered Chamber Member for a minimum of a year.
GOVERNMENT LEADER OF THE YEAR AWARD
Annual
Established in 2022, this award honors an elected official or municipal staff member who goes above and beyond in their dedicated service and/or leadership of Maplewood and/or Richmond Heights. Nominees will show an authentic care and concern for the constituents that they serve, and whose actions contribute to the success of the community.
Preference will be given to nominees whose actions show their support of small businesses through outstanding customer service, advocacy of a pro-business agenda, and/or being a helpful and supportive resource to make doing business in our community easier.
Criteria: Nominees must be employed by or be an elected official of the City of Maplewood or City of Richmond Heights.
CHAMBER SPIRIT AWARD
Annual
Established in 2022, this award honors an exceptional individual who goes above and beyond for the benefit of the Mid County Chamber of Commerce. Nominees will have consistently displayed a positive attitude while taking an active role in Chamber committees, fundraising, events, and/or other efforts. They will be proud champions for our small business and embody a strong spirit of community and service.
Criteria: Nominees must be employed by a registered member of the Mid County Chamber of Commerce.
Educator of the Year Award
Annual
Established in 1985, the nominees are selected by the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District.
THE MARTY AWARD
Occassionally
The Marty Award is the Mid County Chamber of Commerce’s highest honor. It will be awarded from time to time to individuals who distinquish themselves as a righteous and effective leader who perform selfless acts of service to business community. The Marty Award was established in 2019 in honor of long-time Maplewood City Manager, Marty Corcoran. His service to the community was his life’s work and he freely gave of his professional and personal time, energy, and resources to make Maplewood the community it is today. He was a champion for the Chamber of Commerce, and worked tirelessly to serve, support, and grow the business community and local economy. Nominees for the Marty Award should personify the traits above.
