After 35 years of serving as Maplewood City Manager, Marty Corcoran recently announced he is retiring in July. In the great story of Maplewood, Marty’s legacy will be one of a hero. He entered the story in 1983 to lead a city in crisis and became the central figure in bringing about the best chapters in our 111-year history. The stories over the last 35 years are page-turners, filled with utter defeat and sweet success, setbacks and victories, pipe dreams and miracles, all with the resounding perseverance that has come to define Maplewood’s unbreakable community spirit and pride. At the heart of each page and chapter, has been Marty. His leadership, passion, courage, ingenuity, and character, which will continue to inspire our gold standard expectation for our community well past his retirement.

That’s enough for now…so many of us have “Marty” stories and with his retirements still months away, we have plenty of time to share them!
