The Chamber’s first Cornhole Tournament, held on Saturday, June 24th was an overwhelming success! 30 teams battled in Sutton Loop Park for First, Second, and Third Place cash prizes.
The event featured a Guns & Hoses exhibition game: Maplewood/Richmond Heights Police Chiefs (Steve Kruse/Doug Schaeffler) verses Fire Captain/Chief (Peter Marsac/Steve Carman). The game was a nail biter, but ultimately the Fire Department took the win!
The Chamber is thankful to all of the Cornhole sponsors, especially Scheidt Hardware and MRH Boy Scout Troop 362 who built the cornhole sets. Due to the success of the tournament, the Chamber is donating $500 to the Boy Scout’s Philmont High Adventure Scholarship Program.
Special thanks to Christy Byrd, Clarity Street Reality, Dio Maranan, Citizens National Bank, Dana Merritt, Maya Cafe, Paul Barker, Premier Insurance Source and Jimmy Barton, Saratoga Lanes, for all their hardwork in planning the event!
