Maplewood Names Laura Miller as New Director of Community Development

Laura Miller is no stranger to Maplewood, she has been a life-long resident and active community volunteer. She currently serves as Vice President of Immaculate Conception Parish Pastoral Council.  In recent years, Miller introduced the concept of a public piano to the Maplewood community and began a monthly meal program for Maplewood’s first responders. In 2017, the Mid County Chamber of Commerce recognized Miller as Citizen of the Year.

Miller brings with her 23 years of non-profit administration, event management, marketing, communications and public relations experience.  Most recently Miller served as Executive Director of Cultural Festivals, producers of the Saint Louis Art Fair. She played a pivotal role in cultivating the growth of the Saint Louis Art Fair and helping to maintain its reputation as a leader in the art fair industry. During Miller’s tenure Cultural Festivals has been recognized by the International Festivals and Events Association receiving over 90 industry awards.

“Maplewood is very fortunate to attract an individual with Miller’s experience and qualifications. The Maplewood business community will be in good hands,” said Martin Corcoran, Maplewood City Manager.

Over the last decade, Maplewood has seen an influx of restaurants, shops, and businesses. Miller will be tasked with continuing to elevate Maplewood as a destination for people to live, work and play.  Miller will begin her new position effective Monday, September 17, 2018
