Summation of Organization:
The St. Louis Internship Program (SLIP) exists to provide hope and opportunity for high school students through paid summer internships, intensive employability training, and year-round college and career planning, in partnership with businesses and community organizations. We also aim to build the St. Louis community by developing motivated, well-trained, and talented future employees.

Describe any upcoming events, promotions, or anniversaries for your business:
SLIP students are completing our 60+ hours of Training & Development Component in preparation for their summer internships.  We are actively recruiting corporate partners to provide a quality internship experience for the students who complete our training.

What’s the most exciting thing to recently happen for your business or industry?
SLIP received a record number of applicants from youth throughout the St. Louis Region who are interested in jump starting their future.  SLIP is our region’s economic impact strategy for high school students.  Corporate partners must serve as excellent corporate citizens by employing these talented youth in their 8-week summer internship experiences. 

What do you want your new clients to know?
We have a demostrated track record of over 98% of 5,000 interns successfully complete SLIP, graduate high school, and pursue their postsecondary goals!

What does chamber membership mean for you and your business?
SLIP’s goal is to fortify a diverse talent pipeline for our region, and chamber membership allows us to connect directly with corporate partners and institutions who can share direct information on talent needs and provide insight on opportunity areas for talent development.  In turn, SLIP can connect directly with organizations to ensure our practive based knowledge and programming meets regional needs.

SLIP’s favorite Maplewood or Richmond Heights Chamber business is ALL of the businesses who want to join us in strengthening the talent pipeline for our region!

Anything else you’d like to share?
We constantly hear about all of the challenges with today’s youth and companies’ ability to fill jobs.  SLIP is the answer for starting early in building a sustainable talent pipeline.  We are developing the next generation of young professionals through real-world, authentic work experiences.  Our success rate is over 98%!
