What is the most exciting thing to recently happen for your business or in your industry?
Since the pandemic began, our Patient Navigators have seen an alarming trend of more patients being diagnosed with later-stage breast cancer at younger ages. The number of late-stage diagnoses is expected to continue to increase due to delayed screening appointments and costs. In response, Gateway to Hope has launched its Screening Navigation+ Program. Rarely or never screened clients work 1:1 with a Screening Navigator to access and afford preventative breast healthcare, like risk assessments, genetic screening, and mammograms. Through the support of generous donors, we provide financial assistance also to cover co-pay, out-of-pocket, and transportation costs for patients. In 2023, we were awarded a contract with the State to deliver our Screening Navigation+ Program across Missouri. More information can be found at mobreasthealth.org.
What do you want customers to know?
Where you live, the color of your skin and your income should not predict your breast cancer outcome, but they do. Gateway to Hope is committed to changing that by financially and emotionally supporting patients diagnosed with breast cancer and increasing access to screening and education of medically underserved individuals.
