Missouri’s Certified Work Ready Communities is a voluntary effort to align workforce and education to meet the economic needs of the state and local communities. It is guided by key community leaders (elected officials, economic development, business leaders, chambers of commerce, educators and workforce development, in each county). The program will result in strengthening existing businesses, attracting new businesses, growing jobs, and developing a strong talent pipeline for the state’s future growth nationally and globally.

A Certified Work Ready Community is a third party verification process, by ACT Inc., that measures the skills of our community workforce. We need employers to recognize the ACT certification as a sound foundation to document essential work-related skills. Signing up does not legally bind your company or require you to hire certified applicants, but it does show evidence of your support to quantify the quality of our workforce.

Your assistance is needed in helping St. Louis County achieve certification as an ACT Inc., Certified Work Ready Community.
