Girls on the Run is a life-changing, non-profit program for girls in the 3rd through 8th grade. Our mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. The Girls on the Run curriculum combines training for a 5K (3.1 miles) running event with lessons that inspire girls to become independent thinkers, enhance their problem solving skills and make healthy decisions. All of this is accomplished through an active collaboration with girls and their parents, schools, volunteers, staff, and the community.
Girls on the Run St. Louis turns 20 this year! We are proud to have served more than 65,000 girls since 2002, giving them the skills they need in their critical years to grow into strong, confident, empowered young women. The program is now in more than 400 schools across 23 counties in eastern Missouri and western Illinois, and the organization’s 5k race has become the largest timed 5k in St. Louis. Today, Girls on the Run St. Louis is one of the largest councils in North America
For the first time since Covid, we will be hosting an in-person 5k this Fall! This event will take place on Saturday, November 13th at Forest Park and is open to the community. Please check our website at www.gotrstl.org for updates on registration opening.
Chamber Talk
We are so thankful for the community that comes with membership with the chamber. This season, we are hosting two Office Teams for girls in the community who might not have the program at their school. We hope that we can raise awareness for our non-profit organization and encourage local participation!
Favorite Chamber Business
We love all of our neighbors! Our staff enjoys frequent coffee and lunch breaks at the Living Room.
