Spotlight on Saint Louis Closet Co.
Jennifer Quinn Williams, President and Founder of Saint Louis Closet Co. While in her first semester of Saint Louis University graduate school, and while working part-time at three restaurants, Jennifer decided to do what she loved: change people’s lives through custom organization. She approached the Small Business Administration (SBA) to get a crash course on starting a business. That November, she forged ahead with acquiring a start-up loan and taking a risk, trusting that early sales of her new custom closet systems would prove profitable. They certainly did! That first year, Jennifer – a 25-year-old college grad – made $236,000 in sales. This amount would be exceeded by over 2,500 percent over the next 29+ years.
Saint Louis Closet Co. offers 100% adjustable, floor-based custom closet and organizational systems for both residential and commercial customers. In business since 1991, Saint Louis Closet Co. is truly locally owned – not a franchise – and takes pride in employing and giving back to the Saint Louis community. We design and manufacture custom, adjustable pieces in our 30,000 square foot headquarters with state-of-the-art machinery. This allows us to customize each product 100%. At Saint Louis Closet Co., we create new spaces and foster organized living throughout your entire home.
In 2020, Saint Louis Closet Co. is making local charities a priority, starting with Stray Rescue of St. Louis. Our strong history of community involvement has motivated us to give back a percentage of our sales to those in need of funding.
Keeping Up with the Trends
The continued trend for decluttering and downsizing by young and aging homeowners is one of the many factors spurring the growth for Saint Louis Closet Co. The popularity of closet and garage makeovers is providing a boost to business. According to a recent National Association of Realtors’ Home Preferences study, the majority of buyers wanted more or larger closets and more storage space. The second most important feature considered when purchasing a home is the presence of a Master Walk-in closet.
