Summation of your organization

The APA is dedicated to bringing people and pets together, advancing humane education, and creating programs beneficial to the human/animal bond. To support this vision, we’ve adopted the tenets of a socially conscious animal welfare organization. That means we balance our commitment to animals with the St. Louis community, and consider the impact of our programs on the lives of both humans and pets.
While we’re proud that 4,758 animals found homes through the APA last year, we’re also proud to continue supporting those families through spay and neuter operations, classroom initiatives, senior services, an on-site clinic, and many more programs. Each is designed to help people and pets bring out the best in each other for years to come.

Describe any upcoming events, promotions, or anniversaries for your business

The APA is celebrating our 100th anniversary this year. To celebrate, we’re looking for 1,000 people to walk 100 miles each this year—all to benefit the APA Adoption Center. Raise money, win swag and help bring pets and people together. It’s an awesome way to get involved and celebrate the 100th birthday of the APA!

What is the most exciting thing to recently happen for your business or in your industry?

Our best months were July and August! The number of pets adopted during July and August was 1,080. In other words, 1,080 families welcomed a new member into their homes! We are grateful to the 125 volunteers who contributed 4,394 hours of service over the month of August. So far this year, 3,750 pets have been adopted.
