Update: Manchester Road Resurfacing Project

Dear Maplewood Business and/or Property Owner:
Improvements are coming to Manchester Road with construction scheduled to begin
within the next few weeks. Project improvements will consist of pavement resurfacing,
new ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant curb ramps, landscaping, and a
new mid-block pedestrian crossing between Sutton Boulevard and Marshall Avenue. All
crosswalks will be constructed with brick pavers. The improvements will start at Big Bend
Boulevard and extend east to the City limits, near Yale Avenue. The roadway will remain
open during the entirety of the project, with limited lane and sidewalk closures to allow
the work to be completed.
Construction is never convenient. However, we will make every effort to work with the
roadway contractor to try and make the project as painless as possible. There will be times
where access to and from your property may be limited. During any times of limited
access, if you or someone at your business has specific or immediate special needs, please
let us know and we will attempt to accommodate accordingly.
Below is the initial construction schedule. This schedule is still dependent on various
Missouri Department of Transportation approvals we anticipate next week and as always,
weather. If there are any significant changes I will update everyone with another letter.
However, the City’s webpage www.cityofmaplewood.com/2022construction will have
